Spin the Wheel

1. Pick a quick list (food, names, party games or flirty dares), or type or paste your own options into the box, one per line. The wheel updates as you type, with up to 60 options.
2. Press Spin, or tap or swipe the wheel itself. Swipe clockwise or counter-clockwise to choose the direction. The wheel turns for a few seconds and slows to a stop under the pointer at the top.
3. The name under the pointer is the winner. Press Remove winner to take it off the wheel and spin again, which is handy for picking several people in order.

Your options are remembered in your browser between visits, so you can come back to the same list. They are never uploaded anywhere.

Yes. The winner is chosen before the animation starts, using your browser's built-in cryptographic random number generator, the same source used for security-sensitive tasks. Every option has exactly the same chance, no matter how long its text is or how large its slice looks. The animation then rotates the wheel so it stops on the option that was drawn. Nothing about the way you press the button or swipe the wheel, or how fast, can change the outcome: your gesture only starts the spin.

• Deciding what to eat. List the restaurants or dishes everyone would be happy with, then let the wheel end the "I don't mind, you choose" loop.
• In the classroom. Pick a student to answer a question, choose presentation order, or split a class into groups. Use Remove winner so nobody is picked twice.
• Giveaways and raffles. Paste in a list of entrants and spin live on a stream or a video call so everyone can see a fair draw.
• Team meetings. Choose who goes first in a stand-up, who takes the notes, or who hosts the next session.
• Chores and family decisions. Assign chores, pick a movie, or decide whose turn it is to choose.
• Party games. The party games list gives colour-and-limb moves for a floor mat game (right hand green, left foot yellow, and so on), so nobody has to be the caller.
• Dares and icebreakers. The flirty dares list is a light, PG-13 set for parties and date nights. It is also handy for truth or dare prompts, drawing prompts and writing exercises.
